A Great Mix of Scenery, History and Food
It's no wonder that cycling is such a popular sport in Europe. You can explore the almost endless number of small roads and historic sites.
When you're cycling in Europe, you're never very far away from a village with something interesting to see. In many areas, there are so many small hotels and other facilities, you can literally start a cycle trip and stop where you want without even having to plan ahead. I can't think of anything more freeing. Of course this assumes that you stay away from high season.
Tired or need coffee - there always seems to be a cafe nearby where you can stop and mix with the locals.
This section of the site describes our recent trip to SW France, an area rich in culture, history, wine and scenery. It's also inexpensive and a wonderful first European cycling trip.
